I always enjoy a good Barbara Freethy book and this is no exception. This is a sweet romantic story that is a quick easy read, one of those you won't want to put down. The book is short but is still a great story. I'm so excited that the new book in the series just came out. This will be my Thanksgiving read.
I am a Barbara Freethy fan. That being said, I have now read Book 1 and Book 2 in less than 2 weeks. They were both quick reads and kept my interest. I wanted to jump right into Book 3 but I thought maybe doing some chores around the house might be a good idea. I intend to start #3 very soon. Hopefully we will get a snowstorm or some cold weather so I won't feel so bad neglecting my chores and just READING. Enjoy the series...it is worth reading.
This story is very good at telling that you can be what you want to be no matter how you were raised. There is mystery, the handsome guy, the millionaire, lose family's. And of course love is in air.
Too predictable! I couldn't even get past the first chapter. No point just sexual!
So many complications but true love prevailed. Alex was a billionaire and very private person. Andrea about to lose her job as a journalist given him as her next assignment. Write about the man of the year, what could be so hard, maybe the instant chemistry or the life he had hid?
Andrea is a writer that's been given one last chance. Her source for her story has disappeared & her employers want her to drop that story since it's taking too long. She's given the task of writing the cover story for the Man of the Year, Alexander Donovan. No one has been able to get more than superficial information on him & the editor is hoping Andrea can come up with more.
Alex is hiding his past. He's been able to keep the other reporters from digging deep but he senses Andrea will be different. He feels he has to keep her so busy she can't look into anything on her own. So why is he taking her to places & introducing her to people he usually keeps reporters far away from? Why can't he stay away from her?
I really enjoyed this one. The two main characters are both hurt by their past & have to learn to get past it. The chemistry between them is intense. The interactions between them & the secondary characters add dimension & additional insights into their character. Sweet romance!
This book made me feel differently than any book in a long time. Your childhood shapes your future. You can go down, float along, or pull yourself up and do great things despite (or because of) your upbringing. Barbara Freethy has written a story that goes there that makes you appreciate your own story, and makes you want to hug that little boy and just love him.
All grown up, Alex has done well, but he carries secret scars. Andrea is a reporter – hired to uncover Alex’s secrets or lose her job. There’s a spark between Alex and Andrea, but can he trust her? Will she keep her job? Such a good read!
If you enjoy a believable story...one you would give a teen to read then you will find it in this novel...it is not necessary to have the DESCRIPTIVE love scene to write a good story...full of humor...and people you would enjoy knowing .. this will keep you turning the pages ...and " burning the midnight oil"....
