"I don't plan to kill you...unless, of course, you force me to."
Late-night radio show psychologist Rain Sommers is used to the crazies calling in to rage from the back alleys of the French Quarter and the shadows of the bayou. But one caller's chilling obsession with her and her long-ago murdered mother - an iconic singer beloved among the city's goth community - has even the jaded Rain running scared as a sadistic serial killer known as the Vampire prowls New Orleans.
FBI agent Trevor Rivette is convinced her midnight caller and the killer are one and the same. As it becomes disturbingly clear that the Vampire has a sick bloodlust only Rain can satisfy, she allows Trevor to get closer and closer. He soon discovers, however, that his secretive past and troubled present are intertwined - and that he may die trying to keep Rain's fate out of a madman's control.
Leslie Tentler worked in public relations as a writer and editor for nearly two decades. Her first manuscript won the prestigious Maggie Award of Excellence.

Wow! What an unbelievably great book, especially for a debut novel. It's about an FBI agent who is on the hunt for a serial and the radio talk-show host whom the killer is obsessed with. There is a lot of family dynamic/history for both Trevor and Rain, all of which play a huge part in the serials endgame. This had a completely unique storyline as well as life-like characters you can't help but fall in love with. The story was dark and edgy, full of suspense/mystery, and held me completely enthralled the entire time I spent reading it. Please note that it consists of some heavy subject matter including; child abuse, incest, attempted rape, drug abuse, and the brutal murder of teenage victims. While it was a thrilling read, it also had a beautiful love story. Trevor and Rain had a deep connection as well as passion and need for the other. Dante aka "The Vampire" was an absolute creep who freaked me out more than once. The author did leave some questions open to interpretation which I don't usually like but seemed fitting with this story and killer. All in all I loved the writing, plot, characters, pace and just about everything about this book. Ms. Tentler is definitely someone to keep an eye and I can't wait to read the other books in this series!Product details

Midnight Caller (Audible Audio Edition) Leslie Tentler Marguerite Gavin Inc Blackstone Audio Books Reviews
Leslie Tentler is a master at creating conflict and tension! This edge-of-your-seat mystery thriller will leave you unable to put down the book. The romance will leave you begging for more. I can't recommend this book enough. This is Tentler's debut novel, and that seems impossible - her writing style is so seasoned I would have never guessed if I hadn't read the other reviews! Definitely going to buy her other books.
Best book ever I have read 4 times and each time I catch something I missed before---I couldn't put it down. Wished it had been put to a movie
I thought the writing in this book was great, so many of the romance thriller books I have read are worded so simple. I thought the many story lines were interesting, it kept me right with it. It was scary to me. I'm not a pro reviewer I just really thought this was a great story. I will get the next one. I liked the main characters. I really do think it was written better than any I have read in this genre. It did leave the main question unanswered but maybe that was her intention. I would have liked that answered.
Very good book, the romance wasn't heavy and didn't overpower the story line of the killer stalking the heroine. The killer was very well done. I couldn't figure out who the killer was until the author actually came out and said it. If you like suspense books with really nasty psycho killers this is definitely for you. Even if your not really a romance fan(like me)you'll still like this book. I am definitely going to be reading the rest of the series
I have just recently found Leslie Tentler and after the first book , I'm hooked!! With each book, I am drawn in from the first page. I enjoy each of the characters and I get so lost in the book that I feel like I'm part of it. I loved how Leslie Tentler showed who the bad guy was in this book. The characters each had their own stories but it was brought together in a great way. I'm so thrilled that Midnight Caller is the beginning of a trilogy! I can't wait to get to the next book!!! 😁
Another new author that I've enjoyed. Midnight Caller is the first of the Chasing Evil Trilogy by Leslie Tentler. I'm glad I read it, it was a very enjoyable read.
Enjoyed the 2 main characters, Trevor and Rain. This book had lots of suspense and mystery. It was action packed, fast paced and had lots of twists and turns. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A really interesting read, and a great who-done-it. It had me guessing till the end, and I was shocked who the killer was.
Great start to the Chasing Evil Trilogy. I can't wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this to everyone I know.
I loved this book! It it a true romantic suspense, and to me, had the perfect mix of suspense and romance. Sure, there were times when I thought "Oh my god just forget about the past and live your life", but in the end, Trevor's past ended up playing a major part in the plot, and as a subplot, I enjoyed reading the scenes between he and his family. I did not see Rain as weak at all as one reviewer did. She does make some stupid choices, but the book couldn't have gone in the direction it did without them. I absolutely HATE any book with vampire themes, but I still loved this book, so that says something. One thing I am disappointed in.......I settled in to read the trilogy over the course of the next few days only to discover that the books are not related at all other than they all involve FBI agents. I was expecting characters from book 1 to be involved in book 2, in fact, while reading this book, I was trying to figure out which characters would be featured in the other 2 books. I feel it's somewhat of a cheat to call it a trilogy when it really isn't.
